PC (personal computer) , a quite big structure has a fan for cooling purpose. But in case of Laptops how this is possible? The thickness of laptops are being reduced often. How is it possible to place a cooling system in a slim structure?
But the answer is so simple. The arrangement is as shown in image below :
You may see a golden brown strip like one. This is nothing but the copper (Cu) strip. Can you mention any one property of copper?
Yes, absolutely. It is a good conductor of heat and electricity. This Copper Strip is placed above the processor. When processor is turned on, it ultimately gets heated. This heat in turn will be transmitted all along the copper strip. Since heat travels from more heated end to less heated end , we can place our fan at this end. Now we 'll make some provision so that the heat may be liberated from the system to external environment.
So there is no need that the fan should always be at the top of the processor. It can be parallel to the processor also. No matter where is the fan, is heat getting away? Cool !
